PCI card recc?

I'm looking for the best PCI card I can get my hands on for under $200. I think I've narrowed it down to either the Radeon 9250 256m or the BFG Gforce FX200OC with 256. Anyone got any reccomendations other than getting a new mobo and PCIe card (Already have those for my new system).I

I think there are FX5600's on PCI - has anyone put a Radeon 9600 or 9550 on PCI.

Mind you, unless the case prohibits changing the motherboard, or there are other reasons not to, there are some very cheap AGP motherbords around, and the price of a still not great PCI card would cover a very decent AGP.

Depends on the rest of the system, but if the motherboard has no AGP, then it's either going to be a pre-AGP model altogether, with a very weedy CPU, or an onboard AGP graphics / no slot, or one of the disgusting DELL motherboards with a blank space on the board where there would be an AGP if it wasn't their crippled model.

A powerful PCI card, is an upgrade that's very hard to find a good reason for, as it's the ultimate in "flogging a dead horse".

Yeah, it's one of those godawful Dells. I've decided to go with the Apollo GFX5700LE for the time being, and I am ordering a replacement mobo with an AGP slot (Guess Dell doesn't make one with a PCIe slot to fit this case-a 3000).

A bit of a strech but would anyone know if there is any motherboard that would be able to be switched into a sony vaio pc? (pcv-rs 410) I purchased it a while ago and was not really looking to use it for games. Obviously it does not have a AGP slot and wanted to know if there was anything I could do short of buying a new computer.

you can try to find a motherboard layout for your current vaio machine and overlay the demensions and the mounting screws over another motherboard you may be looking at..... you should be able to call sony up and ask for a list of upgradeable parts.... or have them tell you the EXACT dimensions and specifics you need to get a replacement.

that Sony is a desktop model you should be able to open the case and look at it, like Judas said.

but you may lost the Windows and the use of the recovery CDs/DVD if you change the board yourself.
