Is that a normal sized squid, or is it extremely oversized? I'm not much of an aqua-life buff.

They gave you a nickname because you're slimy and repulsive?

Nice find Baller. That thing is HUGE!!!
Now if you thought that guy was scaRy... read this: http://dsc.discovery.com/news/briefs...331/squid.html
Now that's only one tentacle belonging to a juvenile 6 meters (19.5 feet) long. A baby... i am never going into the ocean at night again.
* if you search google you'll see alot of WEIRD ceatures washed up from the Malaysian/ Indonesian area tsunami.

when we do deep acoustic tests and wargames we can kill or disrupt the lives of many creatures...I would be surprised if it wasnt man made rather than a natural event.

Would that squid attack you, and if it did would it kill you? I never seen a squid that big.

If that thing attacked me I'd probably have a heart attack. But, before I drowned I would stab it a few times.

The thing is, people have never seen one of these in the wild alive, just dead, washed up. They have found sperm whale with tentacle marks on them, sugesting either whales eat them, or they eat whales, (I have heared estimates of them being 60+ft long). They have been around for millions of years, they just live very deep in the ocean.

Damn, 60+foot squids? If they eat whales I have just foud a reason never to go into the ocean again. That is scary as hell.

pretty big, but unless you where like, 1 mile deep, you've got nothing to worry about. I'll see if I can find the pic I saw of one that washed up in a fishing net that was like 50ft.
