Thumbs Down! Resolution Problems.

Hello i'm asoft and i need some help, ok well.. i'm a computer noobie and i wasn't sure where to post this but i play a game called Counter-Strike and there are differen't resolutions to change like 800x600 and 680x480 and when i go to change it to the 600x480 the game only apears to be half the screen and on my desktop the resolution can only go to 800x600 so is this because of my drivers? I have ASUS WGA drivers or something and i haven't updated or got new ones in 2 years, also i have a old geforce video card and getting new ATI radeon in 5 days. So when i get the new video card will that do the trick and let me play counter-strike at 680x480 resolution? Or if it is my drivers can someone show me where to download new drivers and which ones to get? I hope you guys can help me Thanks!

you haven't updated the drivers in 2 years? yikes.

you can get the nvidia official drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

when you get your ati card, run driver cleaner first, then install the ati catalysts.

at least try the new drivers before posting about problems.

what are you looking at? I'm guessing AGP. If you can find 'em, the X800XT-PE is the best, but they are expensive. give us a price range first.
