thats a good program to use but once u start to rasie the FSB u get problems with stablity. You computers components cant keep up with the faster speed and data tranmission. If your screen goes blank and u dont dee anything then u have gone to high it could be the V-card or the sound card or your ram or cpu or not enough cooling etc....

OEM boards are seldom designed with overclockability in mind, but for me to better answer your question, I'd need to know a little bit more about your PC. For example, what speed RAM do you have?

You FSB/PCI bus divider is 2/1 or 66/33mhz. When you go to 72.5FSB the PCI bus goes to 36.3 @ 74/37 & your onboard sounds gets crackly & static. The on-board chip can't take 36.6+mhz. The Whitney vid chip can't take 80mhz & it goes.
You can't get into that Pheonix bios to change the FSB/PCI ratio, but a vid & sound card *might* get you above 75mhz. CompUSA has a PCI slot vid card GF4 MX420Plus DDR by Mad Dog Multimedia for ~$90. It is the best PCI card choice currently available if you don't have an AGP slot.
Be happy ya got 725 out of it, 'til you can afford better.

Good advice from JAV; I'd have to agree. It's probably a matter of out-of-spec FSB speeds screwing with the onboard video and audio. However, it could also be that your CPU isn't interested in o/cing. It happens. You have an i810 board and, as such, have no AGP port.

blank screen on boot is probably low voltage for your proc at that speed
no sound is DEFINITELY too much speed for the onboard audio, you're lucky you didn't kill the poor thing.
stop overclocking!! or else you're going to smell something...bad!

Depends if the board could drive a 100FSB Pentium-II, or only a 66FSB.
The question is then how to get the 100FSB setup with a LOWER actual FSB, as I doubt that the 667 Celeron would hold it togeher at 1000 - though some 533's were reputed to take 100FSB
If there are several jumper settings to change between 66/100, they might be divided in a logical manner - with one doing the actual FSB and the others altering the dividers.

sorry its been a while, but i installed a soundblaster 64d pci card and got my celeron to go to 766.6mhz stably. next upgrade will be a pci video card and some better speakers. also i waslooking on my motherboard and saw something like fsb1-fsb6, it look like jumpers are supposed to go there and hp just took them off. the asus mew-am is basically the same board as mine and it pdf files shows the fsb1-fsb6 jumpers in the same area

bld155,
The sounblaster card is a start. There will be a Radeon 9000 64mb DX8.1 PCI card out next week. http://www.driverheaven.net/thread.php?id=6349 That is my choice & the only DX8.1 'budget' card available. Might consider it over the GF4 MX non-DX8.1 cards.
Can't help you on jumper settings, but the i810 chipped boards support 66/100/133 FSB & an upgrade to a 100/133 fsb CPU would be a real improvement. (Voice of experience) Here's a brand new 1.0gig FCPGA Celeron for $62 total that I would recommend for you: http://techspot.pricegrabber.com/sea...f7e3495194d1d5
The Rad 9000 PCI & that CPU & I think you'll be VERY happy! Hit the CPU w/CPUFSB to 112mhz & you'll be @ 1.12gig.
HTH,

I think those jumpers might be documented in your manual, they sound like hard-jumper settings for a FSB. But, I dunno if HP supplied you with a real manual for the mobo or not.

And if it's a Tualatin - these are almost P3s (256K cache) and more, could even work at 133 FSB with not a lot of cooling problems, but that is a matter of luck.
