if you can find one.... i consider the Kyro 1 4000XT one of the best... has the best color output... and clarity..
if for other dos games that may include 3dfx.. find a voodoo

The VooDoo 2 (single or SLI pair) is only a 3D Accelerator, it still needs a 2D card to hookup with.
If you're talking about support and advantages, VooDoo may be the ONLY really "supported" accelerator in any DOS games.
AFAIK, everything else only uses VESA compatible mode, and apart from some of the S3 cards which were known to be SLOW in DOS mode, here may not be a lot to choose.
Where DOS games had options for specific cards, it's down to that game in particular - the only "driver" was a software VESA 2.0 for those cards which lacked it in BIOS ... Scitech UNIVBE or something, I think it was.

http://www.scitechsoft.com/products/...ee_titles.html - free versions, yummy!
http://www.mwpms.uklinux.net/doctor6x.txt - check the Readme for Display Doctor 6.53 - Supports VBE accelerated function

but there is no VESA support for that $400 card is there?
The game I'm trying to play is System Shock. If that helps, and Voodoo 1 has dos drivers?

Thanks for all of your replies, but I should have said I was just looking for a 2D card, and not a 3d accelerator.
