I am going to build my 1st PC....
Is there any type of guide that tell me what goes in 1st..2nd 3rd...etc????I have installed video cards,sound cards,HD's...Etc.But have never put it all togther from scratch....HELP!!!!.I need advise.Not so much as what to put in it,but HOW???And I'm sure that once I get into this I will be Mr.Post-a-plenty ...Thanks guys....and gals.

a couple of important things...
when installing the mobo you need to level it from the casing. you do this by using the "gold" skrew. (think it's a formed like a hectagon). then normal skrews afterwards, when mobo is in its place.
thermalpaste, use thin layer just enough to cover the cpu core. again, use thin layer. be careful when putting on the heatsink, no weird angles or the core will break.

there is a guide on DH for the building of an AMD rig...but it is about the same as putting together any computer (some minor differences...intel mobos have an extra power connection, stuff like that).

i normally find it easier to put the cpu/thermalpaste/hsf on before I put the mobo in the case

Thermalpaste is a thermal compound. It is what makes contact between the cpu and heat sink to transfer heat. as for gfx that is short for Graphics.

Next question....Do all of the componants come with all of the hardware that's needed?????..And also,where's the best place to buy componants???NOT the cheepest,but the best.As far as service.

Normally retail items will include all necessary hardware; sometimes oem parts do include hardware. I think Newegg is the best place to buy from on-line. |

newegg is the best...and one of the cheapest.
just make sure you order retail, as OEM will not include the cables and stuff you need.

Newegg is very good. I found SVC.com's service to be good aswell. They have excellent prices on cooling goods. When my fan controller was out of stock, they asked me if I wanted to take a similar item instead. I ended up getting a controller that was $5 more (probably cost them the same though lol) plus 6 3-pin 12" fan extentions. I was very pleased. |

or if you prefer a brick and mortar store, compUSA has good parts(at exhorbitant prices...lol)
