Eider Down
tonight the moon hangs low on the lake
and the cold wind hit us like a slap in the face
we crawled so much further into the eider down
the water painted the shore, but made no sound
summer is gone, and our love is fleeting
from here till tommorow, our desperate meeting.
sexual congress, and lies and more pain
anticipate the sun and never together again.
no tears for the coming of the autumn chill
we resist tonight, and love with all our will
Youth is wasted on the young they have said
our hearts will beat loudly in our bodies till we are dead
collapse and draw breath, our hearts burst with desire
the smoke finds it's way up...from the dying fire.
"please hold me" she whispers in the deepest of nights
we enjoy the union of bodies and heavenly delight.
"yes" and clutch her bosum, and kiss her tender lips
we find the softest part of the eider and hold each other by the hip
Pray for the night, for the time that slips away.
for summer and love is gone so quickly, with autumn's first rays.
