256 sdram, but actively looking for another stick at garage sales and such. And my comp plays farcry quite well too (25-40 fps) Most settings are low or medium and loading a new level is about 3-4 minutes but other than that, it's pretty good.

Garage sales is what's going to work, cuz all new sdr memory is high density. That is unless he can find some one who makes brand spankin' new low density sdr memory.

512 mb right now I really want to go back to 1 gb but can't afford it...
If I could I'd go for 2 GB (2x1gb sticks) and that would be all
I'd need for a very long time

Just this week I upped my gaming machine to 1 Gig of DDR 2100. That allowed me to use 512 MB DDR in my 2nd machine.

Far Cry was the reason that I went out and got more memory.

I'm pretty sure all Samsung RAM comes with a lifetime warranty, unless you break it in half, or something.

Seems like 1GB of RAM is taking the lead.

you mean XL ... I have 2GB of the stuff! 4x512... 2 of the sticks have activity LEDs and two sticks are platinum. You paid #270??? I got the platinum the day after release... paid 245... then I was able to get the stuff with activity LEDs a couple of weeks back for #200... #270 is a little ott! I paid #445 total for 4x512 modules.
I think that the Platinum is prettier

Ditto... that and I was getting fed up with only 512mb (2x256) of 2.5-3-3-7 - I was wanting a gig of low latency ram for a long time... finally got the money and so got my first GB of XL

I think he meant shitty as in high-latencies... ie. not Kingston Hyper-X - the normal "shitty" Kingston
