yes over the course of 2 years probably. if it irks you, then just ignore it. but im curious to see in this current climate just how the poll will change to prior ones I have on file, and to ascertain if people are using more memory since the release of titles like farcry.

Ah but this is a very important poll. RAM prices are either dropping or people find it more important to have a large amount of memory in their rig.
With the latest breed of FPS games (FarCry, Doom III and the upcoming HL2) people find that it is more important than ever to be slotting home more memory.
Now is the time when the die hard (and even not so die hard) enthusiasts are upgrading. With these latest games, it is incredibly important not to be using your page file and this is why these polls appear.
I have one gig of OCZ gold. Not only did I opt to double the amount of RAM I had in my system, but I wanted the good stuff as well. It cost slightly more than I payed for my X800Pro but it is just as important in a gaming rig as the graphics card or any other expensive component in the modern high performance setup.
Again, the poll is relevant and will be again in 6 months time.
Out of interest, how much are you running?

i have 512mb but is a sucky generic pc2100 one, but it runs at 5-2-2-2 perfectly so is good ^^
anyway yeah, this same poll was done like 1-2 months ago, and the winners were 1gb and second for users with 512mb, lets see how does it go this time
edit: well seems to be going the same way again anyway

My post u quoted was towards whoever questioned... as does it matter if we have the poll open or not its nice to see if people are upgrading or not ya know. Pretty much what you said in urs in a nutshell... for myself i run 1024
I had 1024 of pc2100 then out of the blue 1 stick burnt out (samsung) and WildChild told me no warranty so i got hosed for that stick (wasnt even oc'd). Then i only had 512 of pc2100 which definitely was not cutting it got pc3200 enhanced lat platinum OCZ 2x512... (sam type as bwx has) and they are kicking probably a 40% increase of system speed from 512 of 2100. I also wanted to play UT2k4 smoothly again.
