Visual Pinball is a great freeware pinball editing tool that uses Visual Basic to script the tables. There are many 'real-world' tables emulated already (just about all of them) to download and enjoy. Many even utilize MAME (called VPinMAME) to emulate the dot-matrix display and sounds of many of the more modern tables. The ball physics are top-notch compared to most of the commercially available pinball games in stores. If you are talented in Visual Basic, you can even create your own, or improve upon the tables already out there.
