I went to comic con. Played new metroid game and RE4
I went to comic con yesterday since I live so close to it. Got in for 12 bucks.
I got to the nintendo booth and I saw Metroid Prime 2! I got in line (10 people line , I got there super early). I played it.
First thing I noticed is that you now have dark energy! your main gun has dark energy. I talked with a nintendo guy and he told me what I was playing has not been seen in a trailer. A whole new level.
I was on an alien world and the enemies were awesome! The graphics were spectacular! bump maps on the enemies. There was this part where I roll into a ball and smash enemies from underneath the ground. It was very nicely put together. The new missions with the morph ball we're spectacular. I played like 45 minutes of it. Then I let someone else play. I would say this is better then number 1. I was dieing in hapiness. I was jumping around.
Next I played Resident Evil 4. I got so scared. I was in a town and in a room. There were town members attacking me. So I took one and smashed his head into a window then took a bat and blew his head off.
The graphics we're very good. I met up with that huge troll. and I lost to him. But I kept trying. Nintendo made a rule if you die 5 times you let someone else play. Everyone else SUCKED so I got in line quick..
Then there was Viewtiful Joe 2. Wow this game has speed now. Its going 60 FPS and the slow down matrix is sick ***. There is also speed up. I played as his girlfriend too. This was on the GCN and it was amazing.
I am amazed. This was amazing. I played never before released games. I got a ton of free stuff including a nintendo hat for the being the only one to actually stay alive in Metroid Prime 2 for 45 mins.
I AM SO HAPPY.

Nice
RE4 is a game which I'm looking forward to. It's a shame that they don't port any of those RE games over to other consoles, Capcom really likes to hurt themselves.

GC games appear to have better graphics and that's what I like about it. They have the more simplistic look and more of a "wow" effect. But, X-Box and PS2 are superior though. But it's not all about graphics. Chrono Trigger isn't the best looking game now, but I'm sure there are people who would gladly pick up that game and give it a whirl. GC has great games though, I agree

uh... XBox has an early version of the Orginal old Geforce 3..... simplistic.... all anyone can really say is that it's got TnL and PS/VS shader supports.... 1.0? ..... truely, pixelshader wise... it's got all the rest beat... but in other instances.... the graphics quality is just put to the test when seeing it through a TV.....the Sony is so terribly not a match for either of the GC or XBOX.... it's got brutal graphics capabilities and just terrible throughput period..... i'm not sure how anyone could say that it has seperior quality graphics over any of the other.... hell, the frame rates aren't usually stable... and the fallbacks on it are just terrible as well.... The playstation in itself is the slowest machine to date for consoles..... the GC has ATI tech it.. i'm not sure of which it is.. but i'm pretty confident that it's not before Radeon ... and i'm pretty confident that it has some good TnL in it... (you've gotta see the lighting and whatnot in various games! )....preformance wise.. ..rock solid... seeing some high quality video of metroid prime 2.... shows off the quality and detail.... it's not about simplistic.... metroid isn't very simplistic in even in the orginal... hell, majority of everything has double the polygons that the PS2 ever reaches.... zero loading time same as the Xbox..... saving.... zilch for taking any time at all..... Halo is to XBOX as Metroid is to the GC... easily.... and halo 2 (if it indeed is relased on the XBOX..) is to what Metroid Prime 2 is going to be like on the GC... VERY compariable graphics.... to a T....

I dunno..
It depends on games, but the PS2 games I've seen are wonderful. Yes, there are games with slowdowns and inconsistent framerates like Red Faction 2, but the games like FFX, FFX-2, MGS2, Silent Hill 3, Kingdom Hearts and other games are superb on the system. The PS2 isn't the most powerful, but it delivers the great games. I personally rank both the GC and PS2 higher than the X-Box in terms of games.
PS2 Specs
GC Specs
P.S - I guess "simplistic" wasn't the proper word to describe the GC's graphics.

?
i think i said it right.....
i've seen some of the games that you've mentioned..... although they look good... i've yet to come across one that would be considered the "Halo" for PS2....
i know... i know.... got to have a game that's based on the similare views....type.....

I didnt say the gamecube had better hardware then the xbox. I know the hardware. But its about on par as PS2. But believe me when the game is on a 52 inch plasma tv it looks so awesome. Its almost on par with Riddick game. Almost. im dead serious.

PS2 has no Halo.
There are too many games that are gems on that console to be considered "The one game that makes the system". MGS2 and FFX are two of those gems. There were people bought Zone of the Enders not for Zone of the Enders, but for the MGS2 demo included with it! It seems that every major genre on that console has a high quality game associated with it. GC has a few gems as well and I don't think that Metroid Prime alone would be considered the "Halo" of that system, Wind Waker was also very popular and very good for that system. X-Box.. Well there is only 1 game which was developed for that system and it was Halo and there hasn't been anything else that shines. But we're getting off topic here....
About RE4, Where is Leon Kennedy? Last time I heard he was off to Europe to investigate Umbrella.. are the people there zombies? I should read up on it... I'm tempted to be buy a GC as well. So many games being missed!

i was just considering what "halo" is to xbox or whatever.... the game that pushes the console to it's limit... makes the most use of it... be it graphics/Physics engine (which i must stress metroid really does take a good amount of and it is indeed "feels" real) .... Thrallie.... the Progressive Scan mode for the GC is absalutly amazing... no doubt they were using it on that plasma screen.... guad... it's absalutely stunning...
