problem with recording- full duplex...

I have Audigy2 Platinum and Cubase SX 2.0.1 and I had trying to record a guitar line in one channel and a new one in another channel. but when I record the second line, the first one was also recorded in the second channel and I could'nt control them separatly (because they were recorded together at the second channel). I've trying to cancel the full duplex mode and its help, but then I could'nt hear any sound. there was a signal but no sound. so how can I record another line of guitar during that I hear the first one with out it be also in the second line?
I hope you could understand my problam because my english is....you can see.
and if you could help me I will be thanksfull.

cheers,
Jetleg.

I think a trip to the Getting Started Guide would be a good idea

http://kb.kxproject.com/guide/index.html

Check out the Microphone Setup
just enable the Line in, instead of the Mic In

Full Duplex means that you can record something new while listening to something you already recorded and hear them both at the same time-you want FULL DUPLEX. Where do you see the setting for that?

one at a time. First, one guitar (in Audio1) and then a second guitar in a new channel (Audio2), and when I'm recording the second guitar in the new channel (Audio2) its also record the first guitar in it.

Hi!

Seems to be a wrong routing in DSP - what are your settings for input channels in cubase (in1/in2)? And in DSP: what is connected to asio0/1 on epilog? Try to wire asio0/1 or another pair of your choice directly to line (if your guitar is on line, otherwise to mic) on prolog and then record one part, open new track, record 2nd part - this should work. To hear the signal, activate the monitoring button in the corresponding audio track.

Greetings!

Where can I see my settings for input channels in cubase? I can't find it.
In DSP: AC97 in0/in1 (from prolog) is connected to asio0/1 on epilog, and line2/mic2 (this is how the line in is called in my sound card) in8/in9 to asio8/9. I tried to wire line2/mic2 in8/in9 to asio0/1 but its didnt help. I still have the problem.

Smilie

That it...........its work!
Its far more simple then I thought.
Its the volume of the wave recording level, its wasnt muted.
So every time I'v tried to record the second line its record also the first from hearing it becase its wave.
Sorry I didnt saw it earlier.
But still, thanks allot for answering and trying to help, Ive learnd allot from it and from your answers.

Greetings,

Jetleg.

Hi!

Cool that you´ve figured it out! For next time you can try all these fine things you can do inside of the DSP, such as multi in- and output (play different signals on different channels) and fx-combination and a lot more. There are many things to learn, but finally you have a powerful sound monster at all ! Don´t forget to save your settings from time to time to be able to roll back if something is wrong.

Greetings!
