9800 pro
I just installed my 9800 pro, went to ati.com, downloaded the latest drivers and installed them. When i play opengl games, or run anything 3D (like 3DMark), the color starts to distort a little. I know it's not my monitor (ViewSonic A90f+), because it works fine on my other comp, which runs a GeForce4 Ti4600.
My 3DMark03 scored 7331 (as shown here)
So then i uninstalled the vid card drivers, restarted comp, installed Omega's latest drivers, restarted comp, and i still have the same problem, the color starts to distort in random spots.
Do you have any ideas whats wrong? because i've tried re-installing drivers, using diff methods, and no luck.
Thanks_
[edit]
My comp specs are
P4 2.8ghz w/ HT
1GB pc3200
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

something is odd, that score seems too high. did you reformat/re-install Windows when you upgraded?

Yeah i reformated. This is the order i instaled everything in
Flashed Bios
Windows XP
windows sp1 (and all the other updates)
directx 9.0b
radeon drivers
that was it, then i downloaded 3dmark, and i noticed the color is randomly distorting in places, as if i'm running a crappy version of DirectX and not OpenGL.
Here's a few pics of my settings:

**NOTE**
-ignore the bg sound, tv was on ;o
-ignore the little object in the middle, it was from the avi converter

Try to see what the card is clocked at, should be default around 380 core, 340 (680ddr) mem
I use
AMD XP 3200+
512GB pc3200
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
and my stock out of the box bench for 2k3 was 5625 (which is around the average)
first time i installed the card i kept getting image corruption after uninstalling the drivers and what not, ended up my old card (8500) left its clock settings 265/265 on the clock rate (underclocking causes artifacts? hehe) well i just put in my default clock back and its working fine no artifacts whatsoever
so you might want to check your clockrate and see if ur not ocing

the card is NOT overclocked..
the mhz on the card is:_
core: 337
mem: 380.50
the reason the 3Dmark benchmark was so high was beacuse the resolutions was 800x600, so i did another benchmark on 1024x reso, and got 5884.
its very wierd, because before i reformated and flashed the bois to a newer version, it worked great. I just flashed the bios to the motherboard's default version, and it still doesnt work. I even reformated to make sure, no luck. The fan on the card is moving with no intereference, and the powerflow seems to be find.

Is it too obvious or did you, or did you not, install your mobo/chipsetdrivers?

It sure looks like when the mem is clocked too high.....there is always the possibility that you have a faulty card...

core @ 337 and mem @ 380?????? Double check that they are not the other way around - the core should be @ 380 and the mem should be at 340 (680) - if they are that way round - that could possibly be causing the artifacs - or you may just have a buggered card
