Default Post Intel Celeron 533Mhz

Do you think that an Intel Celeron 533Mhz would overclock to much more? One bad point though; I haven't got many fans. Just the one in the power supply. Overheating imminent. If it doesn't allow much more hertz then there's no point. Any views?

my opinion would be to save your money on possible overclocking equipment and wait until you can upgrade the motherboard and processor.

Even pick up a cheap motherboard and one of the new 1 gig+ celerons, it wouldnt be a high cost with the current prices.

I got my 566 Celeron to 638 just by raising FSB to 75, so u can do the same 2.

The celeron 533 is a poor overclocker, it's the last of the old ppga celerons. You might be able get it to 600 by raising the fsb to 75, anything beyond that is doubtful without a massive voltage increase and good cooling.

To Dasnipe - I wouldn't be surprised if that celeron 566 will overclock much higher, the lower speed fcpga celerons were great overclockers because of their low fsb. 850 isn't outside of the realm of possibility on that cpu.

Actually Starscream there were also 533mhz Celemines. Do you know what voltage your 533 uses? I can tell what core it is from that. If it is a Celemine, you should be able to hit 800mhz easy. Years ago my Celeron 566 ran at 978mhz air-cooled

Really? That's interesting, were they ever sold retail boxed or just oem?

whenever I had 83 FSB I was unstable, maybe I'll try now, hehe, my brother uses it in his room for MP3's, Movies, and chatting.

Both actually Everyone overlooked them though due to the 566 having a more adventatious multiplier. 850mhz was common for the 566s (8.5x100).
