slow display properties??

Hi,

I'm having a weird problem. If I change my wallpaper from the default windows xp themes, my display properties will be very slow when i click on apply or ok. It's like the cpu is taking some time to apply the changes in the display properties (including changing the ati 3d settings). Note that this does not happen when i use the original windows xp theme without changing anything.
I'm not sure if this is radeon driver related or not but i'm using the latest cats (4.5) and I think this problem has been for a long time (I usually just use the normal windows xp theme).

I don't think the problem is with the cats. Maybe it's a problem with some of the extra tools in autopatcher xp.
I guess it's time for a fresh install.
If I wasn't mistaken someone here used to have similar problems. I was wondering what is the caused of the problems.
