EAX is not supported with KX

Aureal is if you install the A2D engine found in KX start menu.

- look at your start menu - the KX Audio Driver / Install A2D Engine..

Then if a game supports it - you would then enable Aureal like you would EAX with in the sames settings. Not All games support Aureal.

Aureal 2D (A2D) is NOT the same as Aureal 3D (A3D) (It's like comparing plain DirectSound with DirectSound 3D). Also note that latest games don't support A3D at all. Aureal was bought by Creative years ago. So no A3D hardware, no A3D powered games. But i admit, A3D 3.0 was a real sound monster in 3D sound positioning world. Hell, Aureal was the leader in simulated 3D effects on stereo speakers. I can confirm that (Half-Life + Diamond Monster II + A3D  ).

Probably why CL got rid of them by buying them up..can't beat them join them..CL doesn't like any competition to theirs gaming sound cards...

System Specs

games should install no matter what soundcard is present

however right-click the kX tray icon, open the settings menu and click "Driver Compatibiliy..."

make sure "Filter All EAX Requests" is checked
