Just loaded KX drivers - can't start UT2004

Hi,

I have just loaded up the latest KX drivers to sort out latency issues using a USB MIDI controller with Cubase 5 - works great but I can't start UT2004 unless I disable sound.

I have tried each setting for the sound in UT safe mode but each time I stat in normal mode, the box reboots. I get the load up screen, the sound plays for about 1/2 second and then it reboots.

Win XP Pro
Audigy 2
UT patch 3355 (latest one)
DX9c

There isn't anything in the event viewer.

I haven't tried editing the ini file or anything yet as it got a bit late to carry on.

Any ideas please anyone?

TIA

Latest kX means which one?

I'm using 3538 beta (latest one available on forums)

3534 with the 3535 update applied. I'll try 3538 and see how I go, thank you.

I have made a bit of progress but found a new problem.

UT works since I edited the ini but...

If I start UT, close it and try Cubase, the box reboots. If I start cubase, close it and then start UT, the box reboots...

I have tried with and without the KX manager running and the same thing happens.

The sound is excellent and has sorted all the cubase problems, now if it stopped rebooting I would be delidhted.

3534? Newest stable is 3537. 3538 is in beta stadium so far. If You don't need 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound, try 3537.

3434 and the 3435 update were the newest files on the mirror I chose a couple of days ago. I have downloaded 3437 now and it's working fine so far - it get's a but choppy if I run more than 4 VST instruments but I'll play with the latency and see if that sorts it out.

Many thanks for your help.

No problem. You can however experience some positioning problems in 3D Surround games (Far Cry, UT2k4, Operation Flashpoint)

I suggest you use Kx driver 3537 + UFX plugin, very nice effect.
