bass redirection issues

hello

I'm running an Audigy2 ZS, xp sp3 32-bit

I've tried using both digital output to my receiver, and 6 channel analog
my receiver has a discrete LFE channel

either way, when I try to adjust the frequency, it cuts off all bass. ie it's not its own channel. i have speaker config set up to 2.1, tried all the surround options, tried different settings in windows audio cp, and I've had no success

halp?
