ALchemy for Audigy (VISTA) + KX = ?
Just for curiosity - is there a possibility that ALchemy for Audigy will work with KX-Drivers ?
Haven't tested it, and don't want to give up 10 bucks for something that doesn't work. Don't want to install buggy creative drivers too... Have someone tested it/managed to work ? |

i think the only reason to use ALchemy would be to use CL specific features like EAX in vista games, which is unsupported by kX - so there doesn't seem to be much need for it
also iirc kX does have at least some support for OpenAL |

yeah, but as far as I know ALchemy 'translates' EAX and DirectSound3D requests into OpenAL format...
So my question remains - will it work with KX ? Because KX supports OpenAL... And I must be sure... Because I'm not an hardcore gamer, but this would be great to have some kind of support for 3-D positioning and effects in games... Heard the difference with and without EAX or D3D... and it's big. |

Thanks for your reply, so there is no point for investing like 10 bucks in Creative ALchemy plus free of charge - crappy drivers for Vista...
