Looking for 512mb pc133
Looking for one stick, 512mb pc133 non ecc- CAS- whatever.
It's to add to a Dell POS Pentium or Celeron (not sure yet) 933 so I can install XP on it. Need it quick or I'll be buying some on Ebay or new off the web.
System only has 2 slots, and it already had 128mb stick in there which I want to keep using, so two 256mb sticks really isn't an option.
If anyone has anything like that laying around that you know for a fact is in working condition, let me know.

Hey craig, (continued from here - do you want to sell some of that old stuff? Do you know what brand it is or what the CAS timing is? The deal is I only have 2 slots in this Dell and it already had a 128mb stick in it- So I wanted one 512mb stick to give it 768mb all together because 384 isn't really enough for an XP system IMO- but maybe it will do- -it's just an email machine but I wanted to speed it up for this lady-
She had winME in there so I'm putting XP pro on it. Ya think 384 is enough?

I know that all of the sticks will do at least 148MHz@2-2-2 (I was mobo limited) I have pretty much every brand, OCZ, mushkin, micron, crucial, a few generics, but all of the labels are gone from the ram becase I added heat spreaders to them to help me get faster. (Before I knew it was a mobo limit)
I could give you 2 sticks for 30$+shipping, or one stick for 25$+shipping.
I think that 128 should be enough for it though. I have run win2k on systems with only 64M of ram and they have done fine with web browsing and simple word processing.

Did you check out this site: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...ory_memory.asp
Also, in the Sunday ADs here, I saw some good prices from Best Buy, Staples, and Office Max.

Sounds good- I guess I'll take 2 sticks, It's going into a Dell Dimensions 4100, and I'm not even sure that old thing will support a 512mb stick anyway-
I was just looking on the Dell site and it only lists 256mb sticks or 128mb sticks as an upgrade.
So that sounds cool. I won't even be overclocking it, but stability is top priority so the best/ most stable sticks you could give me would be cool, (it for my girlfriends mom, so I don't want to let her down if ya know what I mean, lol)... But I guess if I get two sticks, the two most similar stick or the 2 sticks that are the same would be good..
Either way I think I'll take 2 sticks, and also just wondering what kind of shipping you want to use, and how you want to be paid... I have a verified Paypal account, but I was going to try to buy this ram with a separate credit card that isn't verified, and since it takes so long to get a new bank account verified (at least a couple days), I'll probably just have to pay with the Paypal account, unless you have the ability to take a credit card (like a business account at Ebay)..
Let me know what payment option is best for your, and if you like to use FedEx, UPS, or USPS- Or if you will even be able to ship it out that soon.
I'll probably pay you for 2 day air- cause I need it by the 20th, or sooner if possible...

Yeah, I've been looking around- but I think going used is the best in this case-
update- I got my OCZ Platinum Limited Edition in FedEx while I was typing that-
Who woo!- 2-2-2-5 BH-6 Pc3200 chips- Sweet-- Man this stuff is shiny.

FWIW, just this past week I put 2 sticks of PC 133 128 MB RAM into my mom's PII 450 computer which is running XP Pro. It's working quite well and she's happy. (As long as she's happy, I'm tickled to death. )
Staples has some PNY 128 PC 133 in the flyer this week for $14.94 after Rebate. The regular price is: $49.99 with a $15 Instant Rebate and a $20 Mail-in Rebate. (Don't ask me to explain the .05 cent difference. I'm just reading from their own flyer. )
We had first purchased 2 256 MB chips from Staples but the computer she has couldn't read but half the memory of each module. So, we had to return those. I had asked specifically about whether we could take advantage of the mail-in rebates for BOTH sticks. They assured us that we could do so OR that they would directly refund the difference if there was a problem.

Oh ok, well in that case I still might buy it from you, maybe I'll just set this thing up and deliver it to her and them install the ram next time I go home..
See, this PC is from a person who lives 200 miles away (it's my girlfriend's mom's PC- she lives where I grew up) and I go home every couple of months or so. On this trip home I'm going to give her the PC back, but I'm also taking down my old Gigabyte mobo, my 1800xp Palamino, a stock AMD cooler and my old 768mb of PC2100 ram to put in my Parent's PC which has 256mb of pc133 ram in it- (along w/ a very old AMD 750 athlon SOCKET A, and an old FIC AZ 11 mobo-
So I can just swap out that ram and put it in the Dell until I get yours in the mail- then I'll just go back and install it later- and reclaim the ram from my mom's PC to start building a PC for my sister with the stuff i took out of my moms PC.... Basically I'm trying to build a PC for my sister who has 4 kids and can't really afford to buy a new one.
But I still think I'll buy it from you- I just got off the phone with Dell after an hour wait and they said that mobo is only capable of taking 512mb total, or two 256mb sticks, so I'm glad I didn't just go order a 512mb stick!
So do you want to sell any more of those sticks? If not it's cool, but if you do, I might be able to get one or two more.

acctually, one thing to take note of is, make sure the dell can take ECC ram. (Thats all I have) I hear some dells have problems with ECC.
I could sell all of my PC133 ram, I'm never gonna use a SDR mobo again. (Its just a matter of finding it, right now I know where 4 of the sticks are)

Oh noooooooo!!!!! Yup- I cannot use it- I'm glad I called Dell- I asked all the right questions- because it in fact cannot take ECC ram.. I have no Idea about the FIC AZ11- I'm not experienced w/ ECC at all. I'm not sure if you can use ECC, but just disable it in the bios and use it as non-ECC ram...

If you are looking for some good RAM. Do a eBay search on Kingston PC133. That's the only RAM I will use.

Crucial is good, I've had very good results with every sing;e syrick I ever bought from them.. But I won't pay what Crucial wants for that old slow-ass memory.... For that price I could buy pv2100 and a mobo to support it. But getting used stuff is different, It's well worth the price for people who don't want to buy a new PC, but they just need some ram to speed it up a bit when upgrading from 98se/Me etc.....

I'm sure someone will- everyone can use some extra ram - and I be lots of people would like the fact that it's ECC.

Hey gueass what- Now I am building up a PC for my sister using that Athlon 750 and the FIC AZ11 (KT133) mobo! Guess what that means?
I can use the ram now! I checked and the FIC AZ11 can in fact take 3x 512mb of ECC memory-
Craig, if you found the ram sticks, let me know what you have-
and how did you install that heat spreader? Do you remember if you used anything conductive like AS adhesive? Or did you just clamp them on with no adhesive? Just curious about that.
She's also getting a new case
a new hard drive
a new Lite on CD-RW LiteOn 52x32x52 CD-RW
And a new Kebaord and Optical mouse-
She will upgrade the Mobo/Mem/CPU later on- It will be a nice email and internet machine. I know for a fact that 512 mb of ram works much better than 256mb in winXP- at least with more than a few windows open.
I also wonder if you have 2 sticks that are the same brand.
