he means the acctual size. Its not acctually 250GB, because they call it 1,000,000,000 rather than 1,073,741,824.

Yeah this is def. a SICK drive - runs about 20,000MB's faster than my Western Digital 60GB 7200RPM 8Mb buffer HD.

Right now Im trying to convince my fiance to part with 14 dollars so I can run dual channel in my intel rig and get a new HD for it so she can have hers back
Only would cost 14 since Im making some money off of selling a printer and stuff to some people for their computers.
Wish I had the money for both of those things

Hah..with my 160GB Maxtor drive taking a crap right now after only 5 months of use and with 2x 20 GB Maxtor HDD's also dead in the last 3 months .....I don't think I will be buying another maxtor drive sorry! haha

Bad luck? Haha..my monitor caught on fire 3 days ago and I had to go spend $250 to buy a new one....it just burst into flames while I was typing a paper lol. I will just buy seagate next time haha. |

I've seen many more reports of WD's dying on people than Maxtors.
thats all the proof I need - and my WD 60GB started making loud noises after only 6 months, cooled by two fans the entire time. |

Was the system overclocked and were you using one of the HD cooler systems?
Lots of Hard Drives have died from cooler systems that actually cause more issues than they fix
That being said though I still have a 20MB Western Digital HD from the '80s thats still chugging along strong in my IBM PS/2 286 based system
I still use it occasionally for having fun programming in good old BASIC  |
