Advise on a Stable AMD Motherboard!!

Hey all, I am looking for a real stable mobo for a file server i am building. I would like to stay with amd and i am not only looking for a nforce 2 chipset. I would also like to stay under $100 bones. I was thinking about the biostar with nf2 its only around $50 bux. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? If possible i would like to use pc133 ram as well (since i have a ton of it). As far as cpu goes i would like to use an xp.

Thanks for suggestions, advice, comments!!

just save money. The mobo is the most important part of your system you dont want to skimp on it. Get a cheaper CPU if you want to save money.

The DFI lanparty B is great
The leadtek limited edition is good too.
A popular board is the Abit NF7-S rev2, but I have had nothing but trouble with the 5 boards I have used of it, and none of them overclocked as high as the DFI board did.

For stablity on a server board/system I would suggest a via board .And at least DDR 2100 memory ,still may be able to run it within your budget.

How much do the dfi boards run? I dont mind dropping a bill on a motherboard. I dont need onboard anything. I have SB Live, Vid Card, And Gigabit net card. The server isnt going to have a very large load placed on it. Maybe 10 people at the most at a time. Although i was thinking of running a dedicated UT2003 server on it. I have a stockpile of Pc133 at home, thats why i wanted to keep it reg sdram.

BTW- DriverHeaven.net KICKS A.S.S. Thanks a lot for your opinions guys, I take them very seriously and they will play a big part in my decision!

I don't think any modern chipset supports pc133 ram anymore. I think the last one to do it was the SiS735 . . . if you really want to use your ps133, SiS735-based boards are cheap . . . if you don't have the money for a modern mobo and DDR ram . . . .

I went ahead and got a sis735 board and xp2100. The board supports 2 sticks of pc133 and 2 sticks of DDR. I guess i will post how everything goes.

remember, you cannot use pc133 and DDR at the same time, it has to be one or the other

Damn, For some reason i didnt look at the reviews on the board i bought! Wow, what a no-brainer that really ticks me off. Its already been shipped and the reviews really suck! Half were horrible and the other half said it was great. But apparently it is a troubled board. I am kickin my own arse rite now! Well hopefully i dont have the problems everyone else is having. It is an ECS and i thought it was a biostar...

My parents rig is running an ECS now, they've had it for 2 yrs I think. They're not so bad unless you get a lemon of course. So far it's been stable and trouble free, except for PBKAC.

Wow that was quick. That motherboard sucked!! Stay away from ecs... I got server2003 installed and then the usb quit working. After downloading the newest drivers and doing all of the various fixes and patches supplied by other forums i could not get the usb to work again. Then came the random freezes and reboots. Bye bye ecs, returned it to new egg and bought DFI NFII A. Hope this board is better than the last.
