Could someone please tell me what the new nForce motherboards are and what they do? Im interested to upgrade to nForce and wondered if it was worth the while.

Welcome to DH bro!! - Say hi to the fam for me!!
The NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 incorporates dual 400MHz DDR controllers, delivering twice the bandwidth of typical DDR chipsets, an optimized 128-bit architecture, and 400MHz frontside bus (FSB) support for unparalleled performance. The NVIDIA nForce2 400 relies on a single 64-bit memory channel to deliver 400 MHz FSB and 400MHz DDR performance to the mainstream.
Here is an NForce2 roundup review of what is best out there! Check it out

My personal favorite is the DFI lanparty B board, it hits higher FSBs on lower voltages than any of my NF7-S rev2 boards were able to, it also doesnt have any weird little quirks like the NF7-S.
I have heard great things about the leadtek limited edition mobo, if you can find one anywhere (I couldn't) I would reccomed one of those.

Yes sorry you have to have 500 posts before you can have a avatar. The reason some others have one(with less than 500 posts) is either because of a contest or special help here at DH.

Im curious as well since wildchild holds the highest AMD 3DMark Score on the board.
We have the PRO2 board upstairs powering an athlon XP2500+ at 2.35GHz stable on air.
(Thats a 28% clock speed increase)

How can you tell if your Barton chip was made after week 39? IS there a util like Aida32 that can tell you?
I cant seem to O/C higher than 220FSB without things getting hairy, so 2.3gbz is very good!

after its stepping code will be 4 numbers, the last 2 tell you the week it was made in, and the 1st 2 tell you the year.
Usually the later the week the better the overclock you get out of it. (In some cases thats not true, I have a week 3 tbred B, and I hit 2.5GHz with it)

Okay. I may have to buy another motherboard other than Gigabyte, so could anyone recommend me a good motherboard featuring nForce 2 (Abit, Asus, MSI and Epox).
Thanks
