Well CRAPOLA...

I figured out the problem... you MUST REBOOT AFTER INSTALL FOR EVERYTHING TO WORK RIGHT.

Microsoft didn't feel the need to force us or tell us to do this... but it's sorta a BIG MUST IF YOU WANT EVERYTHING TO WORK...

oh well...

I can't seem to play any video files with it, avi, mpg, mpeg, asf, all don't play. Get this message;

Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported. (Error Code = 0x80040265, Condition = 115)

my friend has this odd behavior since he installed it on his pc that I cannot duplicate on mine

whenever he minimizes it it puts something that looks a ton like the shell audio player on his taskbar

he let me do remote assistance so I could look at it and try it for myself to make sure it wasnt a trick and sure enough on minimize it does it

man I wish I could get it to

I really would like to get this thing that some of the guys over at neowin and somebody here mentioned to work, and that is when you minimize you get a good ol' taskbar control like the old powertoys used to have.

If somebody figures out the magical combination and switches to get this to work right, please tell us so we can get it to work.

Hmmm, just installed MP9, restarted, tested it and it works fine. The minimise thing works as well...not sure exactly how to enable/disable it, but in my "Player Settings" I have nothing checked, and I have all the playlist and that other bording bar hidden.

Have the damn "For testing purposes only" on my desktop now :/

Anyone know any links that still work for SP1 by any chance?

Hmmm, just realised I don't have an FTP program installed since I formatted yesterday...
I have 2 shots of it, I can email them to someone if they want to chuck them somewhere.

Anyone that is having trouble using the minimized shell audio player that is part of WMP9 will you do me a favor and answer one question...

How many of you have the other shell audio player installed or have had it installed this time around on Windows XP?

Yeah, clean install here too.
You click the little grey up/down arrow button and it pops up a mini window with the movie etc. in it.

Everything working here. Anyone try pushing that little button to the right of the speaker button when it's minimized to shell? Pretty farking cool affect
For some damn reason though I'm getting that stupid "For testing purposes only" watermark on my desktop now. wtf is that all about? No beta crap on my comp, all gold code. Wonder if this has something to do with not running the sp1.
jesse ;-)
