2.4c or 2.6c for overclocking to 3.2?

Hi guys, I want to overclock a P4 2.6ghz 800fsb cpu to 3.2.
So what is the speed of memory and timing are best for it?
Also, should I get a 2.4ghz and overclock to 3.2 instead of using 2.6? thx.

that article didnt tell me which one is better 2.4 or 2.6. Also, it didnt tell me exactly what kind of memory and timing are gonna be use for each setup.

you'll hit 3.2 with a 2.4C easy. if you wanna go for 3.6 you should get the 2.6 because your ram will be pushed too far by the 2.4C. The acctuall chips can all do 3.6 (usually) but its the ram that becomes your overclocking limit.

Get some dual channel PC4000 or 4200 and run it at 3-4-4. P4s really need dual channel ram to hit the potential, but the timings dont affect their speed nearly as much as pure MHz does.

Like craig said, it is very dependant upon what ram you're using. You need some good PC4200 to be able to handle 3.2 with a 2.4c

I want to overclock a 2.6C to 3.2ghz. Can I use PC3500 memory? most ppl told me to run it at 5:4 ratio, but I heard not many can run at 5:4.

You should be able to run a 2.6GHz at 3.2GHz on PC-3500 RAM @ 5:4. Your RAM will be running just under 400MHz, which is plenty of headroom for PC-3500 (DDR433).

I have overclocked my 2.6C HyperTreading 800 Fsb @3.12Ghz with the fastest clocksetting on the pc 2700 memory ,333 Mhz.
With a Zalman Copper Cooler on my Cpu and the system runs Rock stable
I'm using an Asus P4C800 Deluxe Mobo, overclock setting 20 %, Full load 37 degrees Celsius
No load 30 Deg. Celsius.

I do not know if i use Corsair 400 Mhz ,the cpu can run at 30% overclocking,i hope so....
I doubt it, if this is possible with a 2,4C Cpu.
btw the cost of a 2,6c is 25 Euro's more.

I have more system boost since the install of my Serial ATA drive(Seagate Barracuda) ,then 66MHz more speed on my Memory.
