Locked Bartons?

I saw this posted at Hardocp today, and its worth a post here for our members who havent seen it. not sure how accurate it is:

Quote:
Say it ain't so Joe! But it is being reported on the OCForums that new Barton core CPUs from AMD are in fact multiplier locked. We will try and get something official from AMD on Monday. Thanks RMS.

However, note that AMD is still leaving die-hard overclockers an escape path; the FX-5x. You now have to pay dearly to enjoy the luxury of an unlocked multiplier, but it is an open option.

Good job I bought one soon then! I don't want to go through the annoying process of unlocking if I can avoid it!
