try finding the folder that they were installed to then try a manual install.
but will say they should of installed as the 4200 is in the package.
by the way.as you say you used driver cleaner after removing the drivers first & booting to safe mode then ran dc.
many problems have rose when done the other way round.

ok,
I got it to show up in the "add hardware" part....
But it says this about it:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
Ok now what ?
I have no idea what made this happen....

could help if you could find out what that code 19 error stands for.(haven't a clue)
try add new hardware search then try to install normal vga driver.
if it don't find any new hardware automaticaly it will ask if you have connected hardware.select yes
it will then show a list of devices connected.right at the bottom there is "add new hardware device" press.
then select manual.
then select display adapters.
you might have either vga driver or a list of nividia drivers.if listed select and see what that does.

Yeah... it pays to read the instructions with Driver Cleaner.
The only way I got to fix it is by a Repair install with Windows XP. It seems to be ok now... but I'm going to reinstall again anyways.

Since you said you can now detect the card you could just do a driver roll back under WINXP, if you had it enabled that is. That should restore the drivers to the originals (as long as you have a restore point!!!)
Just go do this:
Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Display adapters -> Right click on your cards name -> click on properties -> Click the Driver Tab -> Click on Roll Back Driver

In 2.6 there is a program included nvidia fix. Use that it should fix the problem. Also the problem is not DC related it is nvidia who has some problem in their uninstall code.
Also if people don't give feedback than i can't look and try to fix it.
BTW Kalisto you don't trust 3rd party software. Than you only have a pc with windows and device drivers.
Like Windows is so good and perfect. It is very buggy and if they fix something they break 3 new things. Also like nvidia drivers are nog so good especially those 52.16 are buggy and give problems.

FORMAT!!! THE BOTTOM LINE
If you really dont feel like reinstalling windows you can always revert the whole hard drive with the system restore point, then take the system back to a stable time...Though the windows xp restore isn't the best i suggest Go Back by Roxio or Restore IT by Farstone...These two programs are good at it...My two cents worth...Thanks
Hopefully helping someone!!!

Yes, system restore isn't as good as one would think...Drive Image by PowerQuest did the trick for me more than once.
