Looks like someone learned a little bit from Hitler. Not the one they should have.

Raiding offices at a University? This is the last straw.

And whats next? Internment camps!!!!!!!???????

The hell??? Read the article please... Arafat is a saint in comparison to what is going on in israel.

Quite frankly i am tired of Israeli foreign policy. How would you like it if Canada came in an shut down New York eh? Thats just plain stupid! But it is exactly what is going on with Israel.

Not to mention the fact that Raiding a public university is just wrong!!!

The whole situation with Israel has been severely screwed up, particurlarly because of American intervention. Even Britain had the common sense to put its foot down when Isreal began its undemocratic practices in the 1960's and 70's ... but America (god i hate this part) single handedly upheld and gave power to Israel.

Israel is now abusing its power horribly. What do we do now?

What we should have done a long time ago, QUIT GIVING THEM SO MANY F-ING GUNS AND SOOOO MUCH F-ING MONEY!!!

It's one thing to have an attitude towards a neighboring country, it's another thing to have an attitude towards one with the greatest military might in the world pouring resources into you in ridiculous proportions to your size and population!!!

STOP THE MADNESS! Stop giving them unlimited support for every bloody thing they feel like doing and see how well they do on their own!

(My thoughts and mine alone, nothing to do with DH on that one. Can we keep this thread a legitimate discussion without needing it being moved to the flamezone please....)

I'd like to see you back that up.

And quite frankly i'm tired of Imperialism in general. This is what long arm policies have brought us.
http://www.greenleft.org.au/back/2001/465/465p15.htm

You gotta learn something: if you choose to get involved in another nations business you better be prepared for the long haul. Case in point: Vietnam... what did America do? Nothing. What could have been done? Everything.

America's involvement in the middle east first created Israel, then the palestine situation and then further generated and supported terrorism and terrorists.

These terrorists have now turned on the U.S.

Aint that a shame?

I agree 100%. (Thank GOD I'm not the only one on this forum who feels this way)
I duno why, but the world, for some reason, likes to ignore Israel's ethnic cleansing and always concentrate on the wrongs of the Palestinians.

here's another story:

Two innocent civilians (father and son) were at the wrong place and the wrong time. The Israeli soldiers were shooting. The father told them to spare his son and shoot him instead (keep in mind he's just an innocent civilian). The Israeli soldier, intrigued, decided to shoot the son first so that the father would see his son die, and then the soldier shot the father.

....

I wanna round off my previous statments: neither the Israelites nor the Palestinians are inherently bad, evil or wrong in any way. There are those, however, that feel hatred for one another. I doubt that these people will ever stop fighting and i am truly sad for that fact.

I do believe, however, that the political strife in the Middle East has been caused, in large part by all facets of America's participation in the Middle East.

I only hope that both the Israelites and the Palestinians don't figure that out. If they do, i am going to pray ... and i am going to run.

I wouldn't call it ethnic cleansing. If there were constant terrorist attacks against your country, wouldn't you want to do something about it? Attacks of terrorism occur quite frequently in Israel and it seems that they want to do something about it. If most of the attacks originate from the followers of Arafat, wouldn't you want to shut down their eduactional institutions and businesses? By doing so, it could help cut down on the funds and support they can raise in order to promote acts of terrorism. Israel isn't doing this because they hate the Palestinians, they are doing this because they Palestinians hate them.

That's my two cents.

You have to realize that this has been going on since long before hamas became a terrorist organization. The media (especially American media) doesn't feel the need to cover the entire truth ... It is the Palestinians that are retaliating against the Israelis... not the other way around. Did you just conveniently forget to realize that half their country was taken from them and that Israel has taken Jerusalem and plans to destroy two of the holiest mosques in the world?

So the Palestinians should blame Israel for being given their land back by another country? They should "retaliate" against Israel because some of the wise leadership in North America decided to give them their land back without asking anybody? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Israel had much to do with taking half of their land in the first place. I can see why they would want to remove the mosques, it's their land now and they can pretty much do anything to the mosques that they want. Not that I necessarily agree with that, but that's how it is.

I do agree with you about our media though, it really does suck. Especially for us pro-gun advocates.

Woah? Give who back what? The israelis lived there So did the christians so did the moslems.

Everyone lived there, you cant give someone BACK land that doesn't belong to them

If the Israelites wanted to live in Palestine, they could. Its that simple. If i wanna go to Washington D.C. I dont ask them to make it into my own private country.

The part about "Giving" Israel to the Israelites is what got this whole thing going.

I meant the institution of the country known as Israel. The nation of Israel was formed in 1949 (or something like that, I hate dates). You could say the land was given to the Jews since they are the government of the land now (well, at least that's what most countries recognize as the government). I'm probably not making any sense now and I intend to keep it that way.

Have you any idea whatsoever how long ago Israel was inhabited by the Jews or how long they stayed there?

It has been thousands of years since Jews lived in that land. Not only that, they only lived there for a few hundred years!! The Muslims have inhabited that land for over a thousand years now.

Now, tell me if a man decides he will live on an island one day and then decides to move away... and then later, his great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandson one day decides he'll move back, but finds others have been living there all these thousand years and have made a prosperous civilization... would it be right for that grandchild to kill all of those people and destroy their homes and holy sites just because he feels he owns the land?

Give me a break. Why don't you just say it. You hate them because they're Muslim. It would save me from a looooooong argument that we're about to have and would make your point more clear.
WTF?

Did I say it was right? No. Don't make assumptions. That is what happened. I never said it was good, I just said that if I was in the same situation, I wouldn't argue with it. I would never argue with the most powerful countries in the world and expect to win.

I hate it when people make assumptions about me. That makes me sick.

Now that the land pretty much belongs to them, they are going to do whatever it takes to make sure it stays that way, whether the Palestinians like it or not. I never said it was right, I feel that is just the way it is.

Accusing me of being racist or the like is a very poor and immature way of arguing.

While Israel hasn't been too peaceful either, I'd have to say that the Palestinians seem a lot more violent than the Israelis (sp?) in general.

I have to agree that they are being quite violent, but they have a right to their land... (but I don't like the way they're going about expressing it... )
