Too bad its release is no longer the 30th. of September...

I'm thinking more like the 15th. of November. Since Valve and ATI have an agreement I wonder if this will hold up the release of their next card (I'd like to think not).

I was in the R3D chat room when this was annouced. October 8 is the date they are targetting for the release. Targetting, not definitely, beyond a doubt, for sure, but targetting. Could be earlier, could be later.

If you ask me, I like the generic "soon" statements better. While I'm just as anxious as anyone else to get the 3.8's, I hate it when my favorite sites (DH + R3D) get bogged down pending the release. I think ATI should only let the MODS know when they will hit and not tell the general members anything other than "soon". It would keep the 'bog-level' down and just end up being a nice surprise when you check the forums next. I know I sure hated seeing "server busy" messages when the 3.7's were released, because I wanted to read some of the other news on the forum at the time and couldn't.

I can just imagine what it will be like if the 3.8's miss the October 8th date........

nice....game profiles...... i missed my kyro 2's ability to do stuff like that....

Just BTW, my brother has one (Hercules 3DProphet 4500) in his computer. And profiles are a nice feature (for example, I always wanted to automatically turn on Alt Pixel Center for some games, but not for all, and now I will be able to

one thing that I really want at this point is faster load times for the CP

for me 5+ seconds is just way too long.

It used to be instantaneous
