Thumbs Down! how do i turn off surround?

hmm. i'm using kx asio drivers 3534, and they're set to surround mode by default
when i turn off surround in the kx mixer, i loose the sound (in winamp etc)
but, if i use the the test-feature in the kx mixer, i get sound in both left and right speaker (not center though)
so it seems to be working.. but it really doesn't
been trying both speaker-outputs on the back of my soundcard
same problem with both
anyone got any ideas?
cause, doing music in surround sucks, i wanna do some hard panning!
thanks.

System Specs

Did you check "Surrounder" in kX DSP?

hmm. yea, i've been trying to turn off surround there all day
it just kills sound
if i turn it back on, i get sound again
but in surround ofcourse..

(you mean like: right-click kx-systemtray-icon -> effects -> [9] Surrounder -> surround = OFF ?)
cause, that just mutes my sound.. :/

It seems that you use either
a. Wrong output for speakers (make sure you have read about "swap front/rear" option)
b. Wrong wave playback device (make sure you use "kX Wave [.] 0/1" or "kX Wave [.] 4/5")

---

Surrounder does not touch sound at all when set to "surround off, speakermode 5.1"...
Try kx's "speaker test", it should help you to find your mistake.

Thumbs Up!

aah. thanks max
the output was correct, and i was pretty much sure of that, else i wouldn't have gotten any sound when testing
but that was the only place i was getting sound aswell, when testing

it was set to the 8\9 though (by default i beleive?)
switched to 0\1 and it worked fine right away
