New player to GFX world!

XGItech!

See their range of products!

http://www.xgitech.com/products/XGIP...09032003En.pdf

Their enthusiast product actually feature 2 GPU on a single PCB board. That is what we are looking for... duo GPU, dual the fun!

For the first time in gaming history, you can harness the brute force of true, dual GPUs on a single, DX9 Compliant board. Volari Duo takes on the task of graphics processing with twice the firepower of other graphics cards, blowing away 3D benchmark challenges like a pair of 9 millimeters. Enjoy the crisp clarity of independent frame rendering with a stunning increase in overall yield that will redefine what people expect from a GPU.
With an amazing 16 pipelines linked through a proprietary new bridge protocol, Volari™ Duo unleashes an avalanche of processing power that will leave the competition out in the cold.

True Hardware DirectX9
Both Volari Duo processors employ XGI’s next generation TruShader™ 2.1 Engine, taking vertex and pixel shading to a new level of realism. Combine this with built-in DirectX9 programmability and highly efficient pixel pipelines, 3D environments now come alive with cinematic realism and movie-studio caliber graphics. Advanced developers can take advantage of the Volari Duo processor’s fully programmable DirectX9 functions to deliver visual experiences never before seen on the PC.

Just FYI, this is a company that consists of SiS (Xabre GPUs) and Trident merged companies. I would not get too excited as of yet.
Nuff said.

Funny enough that was the same reaction I had... and it just so happened that the next website I checked out after reading this post was HardOCP. I even check out Google and could only find barely two pages of links pointing to XGITech related info (most chinese/japanese). Hopefully the product they are trying to bring to the market will be up to par (more competition, more price wars, happier gamers). But in this case, I won't say anything until they can show me the goods. I would also like to know if this card really has the first Dual Graphics Processor. (didn't SGI and even 3DFx came out with this before them)?

Woops... forgot to add this from the XGITech website :

Quote:
Founded in May of 2003 and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, XGI pulls from a deep reservoir of engineering and design talent stemming from its acquisitions of Trident Microsystems, and Silicon Integrated Systems’ graphics divisions. Guided by industry veterans with a deep understanding of the worldwide graphics processor market, XGI embodies a total commitment to providing a full range of high quality, cost effective products created for Professional Graphics, Multimedia Applications, 3D Gaming and Mobile Computing.

Doesn't the 9800Pro have like 24Gb/s? Is this the same thing? I don't know but more competition would be great, lower prices! They're supposedly releasing at comdex, hope they have more to show/offer than DeltaChrome

Maybe they meant the first DX9 dual GPU-
But I have to be skeptical when they start out by making huge claims about being the biggest, fastest, most efficient, etc....

When they start out with a bunch of half-truths and outright lies, it's hard to take anything they say seriously. I hope the best for them, it would be good for everyone if they could back up the claims.. But we will see.

Well, talents can be pulled from other companies. I hope that we are not too particular with company names. Consumers always wanted quality and priced rightly products. We should always be open to innovations.

They are talking about the AGP bus. AGP 8x has 2.1GB/s bandwidth. You were thinking of memory bandwidth.
