Default Post Omega/Plutonium XK1.1.07 Released!

Well I released them guys. Check them out here!

WinRAR 3.0 was used to get the file size down to 17.5mb. So make sure you have that too.

Post any problems/comments in this official thread.

Thank you Cyborg, and Omega, d/loading it now ( 56K modem, 38% so far, )

Just as an aside I can see the posts now:-

Why cant I unzip this file, winzip will not open this file, what should I use to open this file, and this will be inspite of the fact that Cyborg has said at the outset that he has used WINRAR3 to compress, so WINRAR3 will be needed to open it.

Lets see you adapt this one for the Nvidia cards then DW, he he.

Yes Presario 2700US with M6 and 8 Megs.

It seems to be a bit sluggish in RTCW.....not sure why...the previous version seemed to be smoother....could just be me thought. That's my first impression anyway. Thanks Cyborg!

installed here ok too. Control panel install errors fixed.

One question...

if we visit the opengl tab, do the tweaks get reset to default?. I recall that happening with some omegas b4.

Cyborg...I adjusted the Sliders in D3D and OpenGL to More performance (less Quality) and it seems to run smoother again. I also made sure that vSync was off (it was)

Default Post Having a Quake III issue with Omega's 6107s

Hi guys,

Everything's very stable and fast so far, but the new 1107s (or something) have made the transparent color in Quake III Arena "visible". Prime example - go into the Q3DM1 level and look at the big flame in the center of the entrance. That, and rocket explosions all seem to "flicker".

I have a Duron 1000 / Radeon 7500 (don't laugh) that I'm building for a friend, and I can't figure out what I've done to make this artifact happen. Is it a driver (today's Omega's) or a QUake / OpenGL tweak issue?

Thanks for your help!

Default Post Need to uninstall older O/P driver?

Hi Cyborg,

Thanks for the new release. I'm currently using the X1.0.71 driver. Do I need to uninstall it first before installing the XK1.1.07?

MachoBear, you have to un-install your current Display Driver, before installing a new one. If you need help on un-installing Display Drivers, the guide is located www.driverheaven.net/drivers/uninstall.php.

Thanks Impulse. I did that (removing old utilities, ati drivers, all ati*.* files and ati entries in the registry) and the installation went fine.

However, I got problem when I try to set the resolution to 1280x960. Both in the Windows XP desktop and in games. It seems to only display the middle portion and not the whole thing. Kind of like running a 1280x960 virtual desktop under the 1024x768 resolution.

I never have problem like this with the X1.0.71. Any idea what I did wrong?

I have a 8500 64MB w/ BIOS 7.004.

Note: IMHO, the IQ is definatly better than the X1.0.71

MachoBear, you have to disable DCC. To do this, go into advanced display properties, display tab, then click on ur monitor. Uncheck the blue button to disable DCC.

The drivers are working great here. They run smoother than stock drivers. I don't care about numbers or benchmarks. I care about how well my games look and run, and these drivers are great.

Cyborg:

In winrar, after you compress your drivers, if you click the "sfx" button after opening an archive that you have created, it will make a self extracting archive out of your archive and usually won't add more than a miniscule 25 kilobytes to the filesize. (just a suggestion for the future).

Anyone, please help..
I am trying to uninstall the drivers from the recent catalyst.. I have read the instructions and followed them.. first the Candyman instructions, follow to reboot, and when it comes back XP finds the drivers it needs, never asks for you to point to them so you can hit cancel.. I see at the bottom of Candymans page a link to another page if you have problems with windows auto-installing.. I do that one, get to searching for the OEM files, and two come up one is oem0 and the other oem1.. neither contain any ATI info.. 0 contains Sblive stuff, and 1 contains nothing.. so Ifigure I don't have anything to kill, so I follow on to reboot, and guess what, auto installs again..

Any Ideas???

Well, it would make sense to try and delete the one with nothing in it because it can do no harm.

I just installed these drivers and to be honest, this is the first time that the performance changes were this noticeable (but it might just have something to do with my recent defragment... but I doubt it). My 2d performance is MUCH better and the previous corruption is gone. I tried it with a few 3d games etc and they all run smoother and with more consistant framerates. I'd say these are the best OmegaPluts so far

Default Post Do they fix the flashing houses in morrowind?

Since the catalyst drivers (6094) there has been a flashing of the houses on my computer and also other people i know had the same problem. With the 6071 drivers and the omega/plut based on those 6071 everything is fine.

Does this driver release fix the flashing in morrowind???
