Omega driver d/l site..
What is wrong with the server where the omega d/l's are located? ( http://66.227.103.238/omega/nvidia_wxp_omega_14345.exe)
Its slow as hell, and disconnects me whole time!

well I also see he has removed the driver now, so perhaps he was having problems with the file...

after a lengthy download these drivers have just caused me downtime..........
it would now appear that these drivers are 'UNTESTED', wish he had of made that clear on the download page
most annoyed at all the messing about i now have to do to get my system back and stable
what a waste of time

ok let me clear this up, I dont know the current state of play regarding Omegas drivers but
1: there was only ONE link on his omegacorner site (which is incidentally hosted on the same server as Driverheaven).
2: this link was to our driver download server which is not THIS server.
im sure omega will repost the XP set later, so please everyone relax.
thanks.

good for omega.. i have used these drivers in the past with no trouble
what i am saying is releasing them without TESTING is madness.... and this is not made clear on the omega site
i dicked about long enough trying to get a WORKING download of these drivers, just to spend another hour dicking around with a borked pc......
maybe its just me, but i can think of better things to do with my time

and are you aware that he has indeed released them without testing them, or are you just assuming this without hearing from him?
im not saying it is, either way, as im just home from work and dont know what is going on here to be honest, but I think you should at least have the courtesy to wait until he posts something. after all there is a possibility a few bytes of data got corrupted on the upload.
also while you are here, reduce your signature to a maximum of 400 pixels by 100 pixels deep in accordance with site regulations please

he has stated in this forum that he did not have time to test the XP drivers before uploading........ it is not a few bytes of corrupt data, more a problem with the installer failing to put files where they should be
It is not stated on the omega site that the drivers were untested.
Also sorry for bringing it to everyones attention that installing these drivers is a waste of time, go on install them yourself and how much fun you have

ok firstly Norde, welcome to the forum, perhaps you took my tone as putting you down, it was not that at all. As I said im just home from work and I am not aware of any of this. ive just came onto the site in the middle of this and trying to find my feet.
I am the site owner and I take this as quite a serious matter, The quality on DH is VERY important. I have also read omega has stated he did indeed not test the XP set. but HE HAS stated he DIDNT test them on his homepage.
Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will have a talk with Omegadrive.
CLOSED.
