??? Civilization III and Linux?

Hello All,
I need some help to achieve this:
The ideal situation that I want to get to is that I'm able to boot up into Linux (preferably Ubuntu), and play Civilization III.

Is it possible/do-able?

Thanks,
-Mrcoo

Ok, so Civ.III will work with Ubuntu 8.04, but not any of the old ones? (I have Civilization III Complete)

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

Why would you want to use an older version of Ubuntu?

Because I allready have 7.04 burned and don't want to burn another one. But my computer freezes when I try to boot from it, so I'm thinking I'll try burning 8.04 and seeing if it'll boot up.

Ok, does anyone know what's going on with this:
(In regards to the problem stated above), my whole entire computer freezes when my CD-ROM drive is in high usage. (IE: loading linux). Even when Windows (I have Windows XP SP2) is running, when I run a program that requires a CD that runs the CD at high usage not only does it freeze completly, but I also hear the sound you would hear when, lets say, your computer first turns on and you hear that click (sort of) of your hard drive turning on. Well, I'm not sure if it is the hard drive or not, but I know that you hear it a couple of times then the computer freezes. It could be from the CD-ROM drive itself or the hardrives. But if it is from the harddrives then it wouldn't make sence why the computer would freeze when the CD-ROM drive is in hight usage. So maby it isn't the harddrives making the sounds...I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

Maybe your powersupply isn't strong enough for your system?

It can also be that your CD-ROM is old and need to be replaced, but that should not cause the whole system to freeze.

Download CPU-Z and report back what hardware you have.

I have a 450W power supply. That is enough right? I have a A7m266-D motherboard with two AMD Athlon MP 2000+ processors. My power supply can handle that right? It has been working for forever...my CD-ROM drive isn't old either, Memorex DVD-RW Double Layer 16x.

BTW, does Ubuntu 8.04 have a Live CD? I can't seem to find one that is a Live CD, they are all Install-only...
