Dell Latitude d800 Touchpad

I was just given this computer and 5 seconds into using it realized that the touchpad is really laggy. The reaction of the mouse pointer is off by a split second which is really annoying. I'm curious if anyone else has ever experienced something like this. I've updated to the latest drivers for it using Dell's software.

Is there a fix to this or is my pad just broken?

I have a dell latitude d820 and I get the exact same thing. The touchpad is delayed by juuust about a fifth of a second. Not terrible, but it makes it impossible to use the touchpad effectively.

... I've since learned to use the blue nib. No amount of diddling with drivers, reinstalling windows or tweaking could fix it.
