WRT54G openWRT flash DHCP server help
Flashed over the router fine, this model uses a smaller version as the default OS was proprietary and not Linux based, flashed fine and with AUTO config DHCP settings i can get i can make CPU's in network talk but not connect online with the DHCP server. I am very much a networking newb and was flashing to try and increase my wireless signal for connecting on the opposite side of the house.
Do i have to set or adjust something with the domain? something i should have wrote down from in my previous firmware?
pls help ASAP! LOL, its much apreciatted

What kind of internet connection do you have? Have you configured the router for cable, PPPoE, or whatever the modem is feeding into it?

ok flashed back to linksys firmware,
same situation
my MAC address was changed when i flashed the 1st time, and was changed again when i flashed back to the linksys. seems the only way for me to actually set my MAC to the one on the botom of the router is to reflash to the linux based firmware and do it During the flash process (didnt do this the first time)
is the proper (labeled) mac addy that crucial to the router functioning? i was under the impression different ones would work but it was better to have and use the one on the bottom of the rtr beecause it is unique to the hardware.

I've been using dd-wrt for a while now and love it. Boosting the voltage makes a noticable difference in signal strength, but be careful.
