I've tested that without any issues on FF2 and IE7.

Just an idea I'm throwing in, I would find it useful if the quick reply/edit box had the font size setting. If it's not too complicated to add in there.

I'm also having issues with Opera 9.27 official. The submenu doesn't appear at all when hovering over a main menu item (Articles, Tools, Network, etc.). Also the skin selector doesn't seem to be changing skins.
Sorry if this was already mentioned.
EDIT: Nevermind, seems to be a problem with certain stylesheets not loading correctly. Refreshing a few times fixed it.

That happened to me too a few days ago. It only happens when you click on your OWN system specs right? Not anyone else's.
Anyway, I have since "upgraded" to IE7 and it does not do that anymore. If it does I will report back here to confirm.
-Not related to site feedback-
Only thing I really hate about IE7 is the stupid task bars on top being stuck in place. Other than that it works fine. IE6 was messing up on my PC anyway, after a few windows updates it kept opening up in the task manager process list (IEXPLOR.EXE), at random when running IE6 - or clicking a link from an OE6 e-mail- but with no window showing up anywhere, and then would eventually hang other apps on the PC.
Eventually there would be 10 to 15 separate processes of IE running with no corresponding window eating lots of ram and hanging other apps unless ending them manually. Anyway- after weeks of trying to fix it, I was forced to upgrade to IE7, surprise surprise, no more phantom IEXPLOR.EXE processes..

By any chance are you clicking your system spec's after you have made a post using the quick reply? the link will not work if you have just used the quick reply and not refreshed the page, as it uses AJAX to load only the post area of your message and does not include the html for the spec menu which is held just outside the message code. Apart from that I have never had any issues with the spec menu. Hope this helps.

Craig, in IE6 it did the same thing after a standard reply, but exiting the site, closing the browser (cache cleared on exit), reopening, logging back in here and clicking my own spec worked fine for me...
I'm chomping at the bit now to go to IE7 at work - they're not pushing it yet - I may preempt the push and do it myself.
Now running IE7 (and Safari for Win) at home just fine - site looks and works fine for all I do.

really bummed as what ever happens at 3am US eastern time just caused me to lose a rather long post i was writing about a PSU problem i am having. Messing with post for 30-45 mins while poking around here and there, i finally hit submit new thread button and got up for a min. Came back to a white screen saying internal server error and most of the post was gone, got some back from when i previewed it about a 1/4 of the way through. 3:04 AM
just slightly bummed, no biggie and if this is the best time to have these things occur i understand.

Problem with Firefox on the front page under Driver Heaven HOT News - in IE you can hold the mouse cursor over the number buttons (labeled 1 thru 5) and have a preview of the story/article displayed. In Firefox, this does not happen and there is no way of previewing the content so you've actually got to click on the number and navigate away from the front page. This has occurred with all Beta builds of Firefox and now in RC1. I haven't checked it out with Firefox 2.

To Shrink once FF3 goes gold I will have Steve the guy who coded the Hot News to verify and update code to make sure it functions correctly.
Hobo, That sounds like our database backup script, but it should not halt operations so I will look into that. If you get a blank page, try clicking in the address bar and hitting go again, it may ask you to resubmit the the data but sometimes it will ressurect your lost post.
with regards to IE6, while we endeavour to support as many browsers possible, with IE8 on the way and IE7 firmly established we have to draw a line somewhere, server stats show a rapid decline in IE6 users and I whole heartedly encourage anyone still running it to jump ship to a later version.
Thanks

Thanks, i spoke with the coder responsible for this section and he is aware of this. Right now the problem lies with firefox and by the time it reaches final release it should be sorted. Keep your eye on it for us as the builds progress please.

Well, I skipped RC3, but this morning I woke up to 3.0 Final (I didn't get an update notification or anything, I just hit check for updates, it said no updates available, I checked my "About Firefox" and it went from saying 3.0 RC2 to 3.0) Just to be sure I downloaded 3.0 from filehippo and installed over top of it, it was the same version.
The hot news section still does not work. I've lived without it for this long, but it would be nice to have it up and running again

Ok, the hot news section should be live now and compatible with all the new browser releases, let me know how you get on. Thanks to our coder Steve for working on this.
