Coloured pair of glasses

Is it safe to wear such instead of regular glasses? I mean long term.
For example orange.

the only "unsafe" things i can think of are:

a) if they don't block UV radiation, you're more susceptible to retina damage than without the glasses (all coloured glass blocks some frequencies of light to give colour, which overall reduces the amount of light passsing through, making your irises open wider)

b) when driving, make sure you can still tell the difference between red amber and green lights

other than that i don't know of anything that could cause any problems, though google or wikipedia might tell you more

r they orange or yellow? good yellow glasses actually enhance your vision. i have a pair i use for nite drivin.
all good quality sunglasses will have a yellow filter component to them. usually appears brown due to other filter components, but that is the real deal

I know folks that wear blue and such, all UV blockers so they are safe, but many lenses are rubbish because UV coatings are so cheap.

Not as sunglasses, as normal everyday glasses. Not just when it is sunny or something. I am just worried that if used for years your eyes will have a problem.
I don't have any such pair yet. First researching, then deciding.

you're still more susceptible to UV damage as your irises are open wider than they would be without the glasses - so i'd choose to be on the safe side and look for something with good UV protection

But your vision won't get affected by the almost permanent view of everything with say an orange hue?

I wonder about possible psychological effects of walking around in an off colored world, if one wears colored glasses all the time. About five years ago I switched from a pair of slightly shaded brownish-gray glasses that went dark in sunlight, to wearing just clear uncolored glasses with blocker addons as needed. Perhaps they simply had the worst possible color but I did feel a small positive change to my overall mood going with clear glass. Perhaps you could buy two identical pairs and have one of them colored for outdoors use.

Apparently certain tints can help people with dyslexia.

I don't buy it, but it's what some opthalmologists say.

lol besides the odd looks you might get at social events i'd say it's fine as long as they're good quality and do have proper UV protection

Knew someone that had pink glasses because they supposedly helped with astigmatism, so I don't think yours would have any permanent negative impact.
