Thanks for the midi info. I found out thanks to google the only way to change it is hacking the registry (or using a gui some people made to do it). Problem fixed!

However for the pop/crack sound I hear, I did a search and some other people in the 3541 bug report thread were also commenting on such an issue under vista. Since you seem/are vastly more knowledgeable than I am in these matters than myself, is there a workaround for it you would be aware of ? If not would you think downgrading to the latest stable version (3538m I believe) could fix it and would it have any other adverse effects/loss of functionality I should be made aware of before trying ?
