You do know its just the Xplosion with diffent analog opamps,The LMA4652 opamp for the front and for the other ones I forgot. its based on the CMI8770 like The normal Xplosion.
But you will enjoy it no doubt in that. It having Swapable opamps is another neat feature, which the org Xplosion had to.

I dont think that soo many people need those features.
When i watch movies, the sound goes out spdif (DD/DTS passthrough, no encoding needed) and all those great opamps arent really needed if you play games.
IŽll wait for X-Fi 2.

They still improve the sound quailty of games also even if you dont listen to music at all. Then the DD live is for those who wanna use digital when there playing there games. Like I do with my Z5500 when I get tired of using my headphones.
If I didnt have my OPA627,I still would grab a pair even if I didnt listen to music at all. So it just depends on your wants.

I use high quality opamps on my Prelude and the sound quality is greatly improved, which means the
sound quality of my games is also improved. Opamps are the last stage of amplification and signal conditioning
on the soundcard so when using analog they are responsible for much of the cards signature sound quality.
Wait for the X-fi 2?
That card has been out for a while now it is better known as the "X-fi Titanium"
The chip its uses is new. The former X-fi cards use a 20K1 series DSP which is better known as the X-fi Processor.
The new one is a 20K2 which can be called, the "X-fi 2" processor.
Really the only new technology people should buy this for is the PCI-E or possibly the Digital enocder. The analog sound quality would be pretty much the same as the X-gamer, X-Music...etc. Hope this helps.
