KX and midi
Hello,
I've a problem and I hope to have a little help.
I'm an ex musician and I'm trying to use computer for personal recording, so I've disabled the onboard audio and installed an "old" Sound blaster LIVE!" using the KX driver. Concerning the bass guitar(my instruments) ther'sno problem, I have an accettable latency; but I've no midi sound, I'm not able to hear any sound. Maybe I was wrong something, but I don't know,
can you help me?

kX does not come with any soundfonts, thus none are loaded by default (thus no sound from the kX Synths). Use the soundfont page of kxmixer to load soundfonts (you can use the soundfonts from you original driver CD, or download some from the internet).

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but I have a similar issue.
Been using the soundcard and KX for a few days, and didn't have any soundfonts so, yesterday I DL some and last night, I added some SF2 Soundfonts into KX, but now I get no sound on MIDI playback.
In VanBasco, there are now 6 choices for MIDI .. but no sound.
System = P4 / XP SP2 / SB Audigy 2 ZS OEM SB0359
Anybody know what I did wrong ?
Also, I couldn't find the MIDI or Synth volume control on the Mixer.
I know you get a pop-up description when you move the mouse over one of the volume sliders, but the Icons I have yet to grasp. I couldn't see one for MIDI or Synth
I don't have Internet at home, so I'm doing all this on my lunch break

Make sure that you choose one of the kX Synth's for playback.
Make sure that you load at least one full GM soundfont (the 4 or 8 MB soundfonts from the Creative driver, for example), and not just a few individual instruments/patches.
The Synth volume slider is the 3rd slider from the left on the main page of kxmixer (slider #10: kX Project: Knowledgebase: kX Getting Started Guide - The kX Mixer)
