Audigy 2 Value and DD/DTS Decoding

Hi all,

Something is driving me nuts, and I cant seem to find a definitive answer on it. I've been searching for 3 days straight now and I've come up with nothing.

I would just like to know, plain and simple, can an Audigy 2 Value (with the external I/O connector for SPDIF) decode a DD/DTS signal via optical in? I've read a bunch of posts that say yes it does, but I cant seem to get it running. I've tried both under XP and Vista (using Daniel_K's and PAX drivers) and all I can get is stereo out. It will not recognize my DD signal. In the Creative Console it says "unknown or invalid signal" and the SPDIF input settings are greyed out on 'default'. Can anyone please shed some light on this? Thanks!

I'm having this same problem except with an Audigy 4. If you can patch me drivers I'll love you forever. How do I find the device ID and map number of my card?

After reading all 46 pages of the PAX thread it looks as though the grayed out SPDIF settings still haven't been resolved. Please let me know if this isn't the case, or if there's some other alternative you know of to enable DD decoding from SPDIF in.

I'm running an Audigy 4 with the digital I/O module under Windows XP.
