Radeon 9250 & Win Server 2k8?

HI, all! Wondering if there is/will be a driver for the Radeon 9250 for Vista/Windows Server 2008? Had it running fine under Vista Business, but just wiped that box to set up a new 2008 server.

Thoughts?

Hi,

I had the same issue and just did a Google search to see. I didn't find an answer, but I got it to work.

Download the Windows XP driver from ATI's website at Drivers & Software. Run the file on your Server 2008 computer so that it can extract the files. If you actually run the install it will fail.

Here are the steps I followed after the files were extracted:

Open up Server Manager
Click Diagnostics
Click Device Manager
Right-click on the Standard VGA Display Driver (or whatever the video card shows up as)
Click Update Driver Software
Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
Select "Let me pick form a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click Have Disk
Click Browse
Browse to the folder that the files were extracted to, then go into ..\Driver\2KXP_INF
Click Open, then OK
Select the 9250 Series
Then just follow the wizard to the end

This worked perfect for me and didn't even require a reboot.

BTW I am using the 32 Bit version of Windows Server 2008.
