GH Review: Grand Theft Auto 4 (360 and PS3)
Read The Review Here
______________________
The Grand Theft Auto series has been the jewel in Rockstars crown for a long time and the latest incarnation has been surrounded with unparalleled speculation for well over a year now. Surely no game to live up to this hype? Well once again it seems that Rockstar have proved us wrong, everything they touch truly does turn to gold because Grand Theft Auto 4 is quite possibly the best game I have ever played, period.

Sounds terriffic and it's the one game that has me feeling jealous of consolers. But I'll wait.

Aside from the cars, how are the physics in Liberty City? When you shoot people do they react like they've been wounded or just keep on coming? Most of the gameplay I've seen didn't seem to showcase the Euphoria engine like we've come to expect from those Force Unleashed demos.

Depends where you shoot them, if you hit them in the head they normally go down first shot. If you shot them in the arm they tend to fall over holding it and get back up. Same with the legs. Shooting someone in the leg who is running away is a great tactic to either stop or slow them down without killing them quickly.
I would say it is actually pretty realistic.

All the previous GTA's were 1 year delay until they hit PC's, it's not even exclusive to the one console like they were so there's no reason not to bring it to PC.
I held out a year for GoW on PC as well as Vice City and San Andreas...I think I can do it for IV but only cause it'll look so much better on a high end video card.

I wonder if there are side missions as in Saints' Row.
Also, glad to see they have followed that game in the way to handle map and directions.
I will get the game eventualy, it's too sweet not to.

My only problem with this game is sitting at normal distance from my 46" Aquos 1080p tv I cannot read the cellphone messages or the minimap in the lower lefthand corner...and I still have perfect eye sight. Wish there were an option to make them bigger.
Other than that superb review, and a kickass game.

Well, there's a way to solve the first problem. If you open the cellphone up (up on the D pad) go to the menu, then options, and you can change the text size to large.

weird, I dont have an issue reading anything on my aquos 52inch... crystal clear. then again I sit about 3 foot from it...
I beat it today, very good game although the last mission was a bit frustrating until I realised the way to beat the last bit **no spoilers**

I have a similar problem though I think it maybe due to the picture being too dark.

Looks like a great game. I'll be getting a ps3 sometime, whenever I get my new tv. This will be the first title I get for it. So many sites have given it a perfect score (or near perfect) so far.
