Hi all first post here so go easy if this has been discussed before did a search but didn't find much regarding this problem, anyway just got this card (connected via s/pdif) and the software kept saying i was running 2.1 but as you can see in my sig I'm not did some mucking around and now plays through 5.1 all seemed well then went to play coh opposing fronts played for about 5 / 10 mins then the sound locked up the game would still play but all i was getting from the speakers was a noise like a motorbike on a fast tick over lol and the only way to stop it was to reboot after the reboot all was fine so i went and looked for any updates for the sound drivers found them installed and tried again same problem so rebooted went back in to windows and thought i would listen to some music (in wmp) whilst looking for answers any way after about the 5th or 6th track it looked up just like in coh and this is where i decided to post here for a little help as in to what's going on with the card or me lol sorry about the long post, cheers
Try setting pci lat to 64, or a diffent pci slot. Because I haven ran into your problem at all in any of my games. Also when using DD live, you have to keep it set to speakers.
It will send the digital data to your reciver with DD live enable while having the speakers in vista by default.
Also try 16bit/48kghz in the speaker options in the last tab and see if that fix it for you. if your using vista.
Well looks like changing pci slots did the trick played coh for about an hour and half with no sound lock ups thanks General for your suggestions really appreciated
