xbox 360, still has the most games, the best games and the best versions in most cases.
Who knows what it will be like in a year but you want it soon.
Is $400 even enough for a ps3?

ferret2004 will become famous soon enough

I would get an xbox 360. I enjoy that the most of the 3. The PS3 is surprisingly fun though. As for the Wii, I liked it at first, now I hardly touch it and will probably end up selling it to the highest bidder.

Yeah the 360 is probably the best option for you, Halo 3, crackdown and dead rising are my favourites

The best in games still is the Xbox 360. BUT, if you are fanatic about your gaming Formula 1, then get a PS3.

WARNING, console games are more expensive than PC games. Though you are lucky since in the USA the prices are just a bit higher than PC games, where in Europe things are much worse.

So, just be prepared to spend more money on games.

For games you play on a PC - the XBox 360 - hands down.

I have a Wii too, bought this past Christmas - it's a blast! When you bowl, you really bowl. When you play golf, it's really like playing golf. The control system is indeed very cool.
The cost of the system quickly rises to that of the XBox or PS3 though, with extra controllers and games, depending... Plays all the GameCube games too, and tons of older Nintendo and other brand classic video games available through the Wii online store for very low cost.

...and Mario Cart is out for the Wii, and you can play that online with distant friends, but I don't own it, yet...

i still think metroid prime 3's controll scheme is one of the best for making full use of the wiimote/numchuck

I love the Wii. Perfect for a guy who doesn't get a ton of time to play games, and really doesn't care for the typical console experience.

Conversely, good xbox ports are best on PC, since you've got better performance potential than the other consoles, and can use any 360 controllers in Windows.

From what I have heard, there are VERY few worth getting games for the Wii. And if you are a graphics man...forget it.

Then again, I am one of the people that don't like the DS, and yes I used to have one.

I'm not a fan of portable gaming devices.. they have high tendancy to piss me off. lol

but there are a pile of good games for the portable consoles..

but for the wii..... the list is growing and fast..... nintendo has the best history for spitting out (through thier own production) some of the best games gameplay wise.... and they still have some of the exclusive.. reguardless of how "kiddy" someone may think of them, they have a higher tendacy to be an absalute riot to play.

Sure the wii doesn't have stellar graphics, even for me being a complete quality screwball, the graphics are very good if the game is developed properly...

Having both a PS3 and 360 I think it depends on what you want.

360 has the most games and a great controller. The PS3 has great games on the way and blu-ray player built in.

The one thing I don't like about the 360 is that the hardware is unreliable really. I think it's getting better but there are a lot of issues in general with the 360.

I'm on my 2nd one now and my brother-in-law is on his 3rd.

The PS3 is a much better built console imo....but for games alone I like the 360 better.

Being that all around I like my pc better than consoles I would probably get a PS3 for the option of games and blu-ray.

Why on earth have you changed the font's colour to white? It makes it almost unreadable.

For whatever reason it came in black and I couldn't see it so I changed it to white.
