HD 2900XT performance

I got Club 3D HD 2900XT on test but when I tried it out, I was supprised how poor the performance was. In 3dmark 06 I got 11k on my system, and in 01 I got 40k, then I decided to run a game and I tried CoD2 but supprisingly fps were low again(dx7) got only like 120-500 and much bigger fps drops in smoke. Then I took the card to a good friend of mine and we did some tests on his rig:
e6750@3.4
p5k se
geil 2gb 800mhz
700Watt PSU

The 3d mark scores scores on his rig were 12.5k in 06 and 58k in 01, then we tried CoD2 on same details I tried out on my rig, the results were 300-1000, fps in smoke never went below 250)
Card was running on catalyst 8.3.

Any clues why could that be happening? I have better FPS in CoD2 with my 8600GT then I had with 2900XT.

what kind of HDD are you using?

can you post your system in COMPLETE detail, what you have in your spec list does not suffice.
