ten minutes, it is quite simple in approach and form. It is a young dutch girl I worked with last year, she was a wonderful student and is studying film in London now.

I attempt a bit of realism, but if you enjoy it, and you like doing it, then it doesnt matter if meets anyone else's expectations, just your own.

i agree with what you said, you're right about that (and it's usually apply to just about everything i did and will do).
it's just it never meet my own expectations, i mean for drawing a picture of someone in just 10mins and it comes out to look like that, lol.
never mind Jeff. Enjoy your drawing drawings and upload to show us more.

you know most people have an inner light that shines or trys to shine when you look into their eyes. I try to capture them, or what I see from them, but I must first clear my own vision and allow thier light to shine through. I dont know quite how to say it accurately except most folks have something, or the absence of something that just says it all when you look into their eyes, living or dead. Sounds creepy, and a bit forensic I know, but beauty can be found almost anywhere. I have observed people and if I cannot look into their eyes and find something then that really bothers me, but such is life I suppose.
We all wear many masks and hide behind many clever facades, I just try to find the moment when I think I see who they are behind their eyes.
The young lady in this picture runs a company in Germany and carries the wieght of her world on her shoulders, but just for an afternoon, she was herself, and she is rather an attractive woman for her age as well so it was a thrill for me personally, I dont think I can say that about every person I have sketched or drawn.
Get an image in your mind, find a suitable canvas and arrange your palatte in your mind first, then compose your drawing, or painting or vision. If your satisfied then that is all that matters, I just wanted to share the face of this young woman because I am rather fond of her, and she was a gracious host to me for several days.
