Hey Long_Shanks. I'm gonna PM (Private Message) you the link for the drivers you need, plus the username and password to get them. If I post the direct link/username/password the oringal site will get pissed (which has happened already to someone).

VIAO & PRO/Wireless 2100 3B
Hey guys, since my PCG-R505ECP is freezing at reagulare intervalls when the original Orinoco Wireless PCI card is enable I want to change it for an Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 3B that is in my T42 Thinkpad and will upgrad with 220BG.
After many looking around it seems that you are the only one to know how to find the proper drivers to fid on the VIAO.
If your source is still on, can you provide me a link or send me the drivers?
Thanks a lot.
JB

Got the message you sent me jbanks. Check your mail box (PM) for the link.
For those that want to know Intel has combined the drivers for the below cards into one driver now. Those supported cards are:
- Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection
- Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100A Network Connection
- Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
- Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection
The link for them is HERE. Just choose your OS, and your set.

Sont Vaio Laptop Wireless Problem
I recently purchased a Vaio laptop for school this fall. Everything was fine, but there was a bunch of extra crap on there that i was getting rid of, and it was all still good until i tried to uninstall Norton. My dad works for a company that has a good Symantec corporate antivirus and so i tried to uninstall the free trial deal and get the better downloaded corporate one. well after that my ethernet connection went out and stopped working, so i had my school tech services fix it. the ethernet connection works now, but windows can never find any wireless networks now, and everytime i hit the 'diagnose and repair' button it tells me that the 'Wireless capability for this computer is turned off' and that i should try to manually turn on the switch on the front of the comp. well i have done that... several times. any advice? i've tried everything i know.

My Sony Vaio has a slide bar on the right front of the computer next to the microphone jack. It's easy to accidentally move it and very frustrating if you can't find it. Your model may be slightly different, but the slider should be right next to your wireless "on" indicator light.

Hi
I've got exactly same problem - turn on wireless capability. Only purchased the Sony Vaio VGN NR21M/S yesterday. Worked fine until it was switched off & then next time no wireless at all & no other networks as before visible. Where is the icon that might resolve the issue. The LAn light at front of m/c only flickers does not stay lit. The register your vaio icon just come up with a small white screen. Help me if you can. Thanks

OMG! THank you so much! I had this problem when I first purchased my VIAO PCG-7113L, and took it back, and they replaced it with another. After 2 months, I had this problem where it was telling me that my wireless Lan switch wasn't activated. I did what you said to click on the little purple "VAIO smart Network" button, and click on WLAN after I put the switch to the on position and it worked. THanks again, you saved me a 2 hour drive

Re: Wireless LAN Driver for Sony Vaio
Hello, I also do not have the purple icon, and cannot connect or identify networks, or what. I have turned on and off the switch in the front enough it may fall off. No luck, and very frustrated.
Any ideas what else to do?
thanks
Mike

Re: Wireless LAN Driver for Sony Vaio
I know this isn't a direct link to a specific driver, but it might be worth looking for a disc, or rather 2 discs that might have what you need. Search (google) the "25,000 Windows Drivers CD" or the "100,000 Universal Windows Drivers" (this one being DVD). Both are made up of a collection of drivers for XP that include a wide range of devices, including wireless ones. If you can't find either of these, or you do, but neither work, post back, and we'll try to help you out.
BTW, both are easy to find on P2P networks, such as bittorrent, but you can find it on non-P2P sites too.
