firstly, if you want to use only one SPDIF cable for 5.1 sound, you're out of luck using a creative soundcard, unless the sound is pre-recorded in ac3 and you have enabled ac-3 passthrough in the kX mixer
however if you can use 3 SPDIF cables, get an adaptor cable called a "camcorder" cable or these days I think they make them for the iPod video too, a 4 pole 3.5mm jack to 3 x RCA plugs, and connect that to the digital output jack of the A2ZS
also from your post, I understand you want to hear both music from the 5.1 system AND game sound through stereo headphones at the same time? that may be a little tricky, unless you're happy to listen to music as stereo (much better option imo) - i'll wait for your reply as to how you actually want to set up your system

@ dj_stick yes I understand the music I hear has only a stereo signal and will be upmixed by my externel acReceiver. No real 5.1 signal.
So what should I do?

Do you still need help?
If your learn about the DSP, such things are not complicated, but there are certain 'gotchas', so it can be harder to explain how to do (under all possible conditions, etc) then to actually do...
You might consider using an ASIO plugin in WinAMP, and using ASIO 10/11 (connect FxBus 10/11 directly to whichever connection on epilog you are using for headphones). This could eliminate some of the problems that you might have under other scenarios (provided that the game's CPU usage does not effect ASIO performance too much).

Hi Russ,
I pointed him to some facts via e-Mail, think he has managed his problems. BTW: the ASIO plugin for winamp does not work for me - winamp doesnīt start to play anything with it.

I see... Sorry I do not use WinAMP and did not realize that the ASIO plugins that are available for it are not very good.

The author itself has mentioned not to use it because of a buggy winamp interface

Hehe, in contrast, ASIO output works good with foobar2000 (tested with foobar2000 v0.9.3.1 and foo_out_asio.dll v1.2.4).

ASIO for itself works almost good with kX, but WinAmp doesnīt. I checked this with many sequencer tools and standalone hosts and never had a problem. From one to another kX-driver release I have to change some buffer settings, thatīs all.
